Justin Bieber is one of the most famous people in the world – but he just wants to be known as Derek. However, there is no hiding for Justin Bieber – when he makes a seemingly innocuous comment, the world soon finds out.

So when he joked with a reporter that he was merely a celeb lookalike called Derek, all hell broke loose. Before long, Derek Bieber was one of the most popular trending topics on Twitter, where the singer’s fans – the ‘Beliebers’ – are found in strength.

And it gave his followers a chance to get one over on Twitter bosses, who last year changed the workings of the website’s algorithm to stop Bieber’s name trending every day. –Metro
